ByeByePools – Pool Removal in Bay Area
Posted on Jessica N.Verified We highly recommend BBP! We recently used BBP to remove our pool and with our backyard design and pavers. The team is easy to work with, professional, and responsive. They kept us informed of the process and accommodated our requests. Using both the demo team and paver team made the remodeling process easier and we really appreciated the 3D design rendering. We had 3 different quotes for the demo and glad we decided to use BBP!Posted on Alisha O.Verified have no regrets. Honesty when I saw the name bye bye pool, I was not impressed. I passed them over. But on second pass, I called them and so glad I did.Posted on Duane F.Verified Two years ago we decided to remove the pool we were no longer using. BBP removed the pool completely according to our schedule, taking great care not to damge anything unnecessarily. They removed all the existing hardscape, filled in the defects and prepped the ground for the new hardscape contractor. Their work was excellent and passed all required inspections without difficulty. The workers were always on time and worked complete days. They cleaned up beautifully at the end of each day. They were always friendly and willing to answer any and all questions. We have done of lot of work to our house and property and BBP was one of the easyist and most reliable companies we have worked with. We would recommend them, without reservation, to anyone needing this kind of work. Duane F.Posted on Almimi L.Verified We are very pleased with the BBP team members who participated in this project. Their work ethic, professionalism, and approachability are unparalleled. BBP is the best team to work with.Posted on Gregory M.Verified Since our aging backyard pool was not getting used as our kids have grown and moved away, we decided to remove it. We got bids from 5 different companies, and chose Bye Bye Pool (BBP), based on their very obvious attention to detail and the "can-do" attitude presented by the owner, Rafael, during the initial bid. He was undaunted by the fact that we had less than a 5 foot wide access through to the backyard, and assured us that he would get his equipment through and do the work. Also, our driveway has a steep downward slope with very nice pavers that have held up well over the years, and we did not want to risk having it ruined with heavy trucks going back and forth. Since we were only doing a partial removal with the concrete of the pool deck and top part of the pool going into the cavity, Rafael suggested that they could move the truckloads of backfill dirt and base rock from the top of the driveway by wheelbarrow. Throughout the process, Susi in the office was excellent at keeping the lines of communication open with me and the team. Zander was the on-site foreman, and was extremely careful to protect the driveway and our back patio from damage from the equipment, and then proceeded to handle the excavator with the skill of a surgeon. He was very responsive, and valued good communication. His main helper, Rudy, worked with the pace of at least two people, having the same amount of energy at the beginning of the day as he did after 8 hours of tossing concrete fragments, cutting rebar, and running up and down the driveway hill with loads of soil or base rock. Throughout every step of the project, it was clear that the team took great pride in their work. The job was done within the time they had projected, and they left the site cleaner than when they arrived. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the job, and we recommend BBP without hesitation.Posted on Jim L.Verified We had our pool removed in September 2024. The folks at BBP Inc are all top notch. Susi in the office patiently kept me informed and kept the project on track. Rafael came out to the house 3 times to assess our tricky access and to answer questions. Kennedy handled the shutdown of utilities - water, electric, and gas - quickly and professionally. Zander spent most of 3 weeks demolishing our Hoover Dam-like pool - skillfully breaking it apart, lining up the trucks for the disposal, and then lining up the trucks of soil to refill the crater left behind. Pollo worked tirelessly cutting hundreds of pieces of rebar. What a great crew! We've done all sorts of projects over the years including raising and remodeling a house. None of them went so smoothly as the pool removal. 110% recommendation.Posted on Amy L.Verified We got a totally pool removal. The team is very professional. The works is great! We are very happy about it. We recommend the team if you're looking for pool removal.Posted on Curry S.Verified Rafael and the whole BBP crew are awesome! They did a fantastic job of our pool removal. The project was very well run. The crew was fast, very efficient and professional. They also did a great job in cleaning up the area after the work was done. Rafael was very knowledge and patient with all our questions. Susi in the office was also super helpful too. I would definitely recommend BBP for any pool removal.Posted on Mark S.Verified Wanted partial pool removal and had 10 bids. Learned from each. Some were not so great. But about my eighth bid was Bye Bye pools. Rafael came out (owner) and he was very smart and clever guy. I was super impressed. I had many questions because I had learned to talk Pools! His whole approach was "can do"! And I read the help reviews and saw all the great customer service stories. But I was still skeptical! But I took a chance and went with Bye Bye Pools and have NO REGRETS. GREAT customer service. I worked most with Zander. He was the one who did the bulk of the work. He was in the Bobcat demoing pool and filling in pool. He was smart, listened well and friendly. Thank goodness, that was a relief. I had very specific needs for my pool. I wanted to keep some of edges around the pool. He skillfully used the bobcat to be VERY precise. I asked him if he was an athlete because he was so skillsful. He said NO, LOL. But I watched him and he must have made 200 trips compacting the soil in pool. I don't know how he didn't break the edges of the pool concrete I wanted to keep. GREAT precision. Amazing. And Zander's helper was great too. He was there every day helping make sure the pool was being filled at the right dampness. He too had a great attitude. And Susie at the office was great to coordinate. I knew from yelp reviews that I would have a good experience with her support. And yes, she was there as phone support every step of the way. You know something always goes a little wrong. And she was there to make it right. My job was tricky because we had to go through neighbors property to make this happen. Susie worked with me on wording of neighbor contract which was key to the success of this project. And of course, Bye Bye pools was licensed and bonded which was a must for me when dealing with a neighbor's property and MINE! The price we paid was about the same as all the other bids. So very fair cost but probably higher quality than the other bids I received. I have no regrets. Honesty when I saw the name bye bye pool, I was not impressed. I passed them over. But on second pass, I called them and so glad I did. And Kennedy was great too, who was supervisor. I spent less time with him but he had the same team spirit and customer service as everyone else. So glad my pool is gone! We have a yard. Thanks Bye Bye pools!Posted on Alexis M.Verified Our choice to hire BBP for our full pool demo was one of the smartest decisions my husband and I have ever made. These decisions aren't easy but our pool was 55+ years old and a leak detection company found several leaks that required repairs. For us the writing was on the wall, we could continually repair an old, seldom used, massive pool and pay ever increasing higher water and power bills or get rid of it! Most people go their entire lives without ever looking to hire a pool demo company but we approached it the same way we do any hiring decision...we performed our due diligence, obtained several bids and read numerous online reviews. Ultimately our decision to hire BBP came down to their competitive bid and overwhelmingly positive online reviews. We signed the contract for a full demo in mid-February 2023 and by late March 2023 our demo was underway. The project began with the crew removing fence panels to gain entry for the bobcats and laying plywood on the grass and patio to protect those surfaces. During the demo we had a couple hiccups completely unforeseen, which necessitated change orders. It turned out our pool was actually a pool within a pool. At some point during the last 55-90 years, a former owner shallowed the deep pool by adding additional concrete on top of the pool floor so our demo involved removal of two pool floors. Towards the end of the demo the crew discovered an additional concrete wall which could have remained but we opted to have it removed which required an additional change order fee. Since ours was a full demo, all the concrete was removed from the pool cavity before it was filled with dirt and compacted. Once the bobcats were removed the crew carefully reinstalled the fence post and panels. The entire process for us was completed in 3 weeks, a crew of 2 working Monday through Saturday. My husband and I were so impressed every single day by the professionalism of the BBP crew. The guys were always punctual, friendly and polite and never ended their day without completing a thorough cleanup of the work site. Rafael and Kenedy always made themselves available and responsive to any questions we had during the process. Susi was always available by phone or email anytime we needed assistance. BBP did it all by handling everything, the draining of the pool, permitting, inspections including the final inspection and sending over the signed inspection report confirming our former pool is now a future buildable site! My husband and I are thrilled to have reclaimed a sizable chunk of backyard real estate which we're looking forward to landscaping soon. During our demo we had several neighbors approach us to inquire about our pool demo experience and we enthusiastically recommended BBP. Thank you to everyone at BBP and their outstanding demo work!Load more

There are several reasons to consider swimming pool removal. Some homeowners find that they’re not using their pool as much as they anticipated, and the costs of maintaining it outweigh the benefits. Pool removal can also make your property more appealing to potential buyers, enhance safety, and create space for other outdoor features or landscaping opportunities.
Pool demolition involves a series of steps. First, the pool is drained, then any utilities are disconnected. After obtaining necessary permits, the pool structure is broken down using heavy machinery. The debris is removed, and the area is backfilled and compacted to create a stable surface for future use.
Partial pool demolition, often referred to as a “pool fill-in,” involves breaking down the top few feet of the pool structure, punching holes in the bottom for drainage, and then backfilling the remaining hole with soil and compacting it. This method is less comprehensive than a full pool removal but may be suitable for some situations.
